OpenAI Unveils o1 preview: A New Era of AI Reasoning

OpenAI has introduced o1, a revolutionary AI model that surpasses its predecessor, GPT-4, in complex reasoning tasks. Available from September 12th, o1 demonstrates remarkable improvements in science, math, and coding. Most notably, it solved 83% of International Mathematics Olympiad qualifying exam problems, compared to GPT-4's 13%. In coding competitions, o1 reached the 89th percentile, showcasing its enhanced problem-solving abilities.

Alongside o1, OpenAI launched o1-mini, a more efficient model optimized for coding tasks. Both new models feature improved safety measures, with o1 scoring 84 out of 100 in rigorous jailbreaking tests, significantly outperforming GPT-4's score of 22. While these models currently lack some features of GPT-4 like web browsing and image processing, they represent a major advancement in AI reasoning capabilities, setting a new benchmark for the industry.

$10M in royalties using bots to stream AI-generated songs (although he’s being arrested…)

A North Carolina man is in hot water after allegedly pocketing over $10M in royalties from AI-generated songs streamed by bots. Authorities claim Michael Smith created thousands of bot accounts to repeatedly stream his own tracks on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.

To keep the scheme rolling, Smith supposedly turned to AI to pump out hundreds of thousands of songs, giving them randomly generated artist names to appear legitimate. Now, he’s facing charges of fraud and money laundering - with up to 20 years behind bars if convicted.

Ali Abdaal: A Sales & Marketing Coaching Session with Russell Brunson

I just watched this video with Ali Abdaal and Russell Brunson. It was really good. The awesome part (well, it was all really interesting to be fair) was about using webinars as part of a sales funnel.

Now, I didn’t realise this, but if you’re selling a high-ticket item (like a $1,000 course or something), a webinar converts at a way higher rate than a landing page…even a landing page which is really optimised and a/b tested to the high heavens.

Russell actually did that for his own company (Click Funnels) and his conversions went through the roof.

Essentially, what he was doing was running paid ads pointing people to sign up for a webinar. 30% of people would attend the webinar and a bunch would convert. Every time he did the webinar he'd look at the comments section, and see what questions were there in each minute in the video. This meant the next time he did the webinar he could add a slide in to combat the questions people had, making the thing damn efficient!

Here's the video. You should watch it. I learnt a bunch…and I thought I had a decent knowledge on landing pages and stuff already, so it made me think “Damn, how much better is this guy than me?”

Just watch the damn thing and thank me later.
