DOJ: Google Must Sell Chrome to End Search Monopoly
The US Department of Justice (DOJ) is coming after Google with a bold demand: sell Chrome, the world’s most popular web browser. This dramatic move is part of a larger effort to break Google’s monopoly in online search, which commands nearly 90% of global searches according to Statcounter. Alongside this, the DOJ is also pushing to end Google’s contracts with tech giants like Apple and Samsung that set its search engine as the default on devices.
The DOJ’s proposed remedies stem from an August ruling that found Google guilty of illegally stifling competition in online search. But Google isn’t taking this lightly, calling the proposals a “radical interventionist agenda” that could disrupt its ecosystem. With Judge Amit Mehta expected to rule on the remedies by summer 2025, the tech world is holding its breath. If the DOJ gets its way, we might finally see some fresh competition in the search market—and maybe even some long-overdue innovation.

Product Hunt: How Ryan Hoover Changed the Way We Launch Products
Back in 2013, Ryan Hoover wasn’t aiming to build a tech phenomenon—he just wanted a better way to track new and exciting products. As a product manager, he spent hours hunting the web for fresh innovations, but the process was chaotic. His solution? An email list showcasing the latest launches.
That list quickly gained traction, and Hoover realized he was onto something. What started as a simple digest soon evolved into Product Hunt: the go-to launchpad for startups and a hub for tech enthusiasts. Today, it’s a place where solo developers and tech giants alike introduce their ideas to the world—and sometimes, redefine industries.

AI Fighting Cancer: OneCell's Diagnostics $16M Bet
OneCell Diagnostics is revolutionizing cancer care with its cutting-edge AI and genomics-based approach to limiting cancer recurrence. The startup, which has already served nearly 10,000 patients in India, uses blood-based biopsy testing to detect circulating tumor cells, offering a more precise alternative to traditional scans like PET CT and MRI. By combining AI with advanced cell science, OneCell’s True-Single-Cell-Multi-omics platform delivers 100 times more diagnostic information than standard liquid biopsies.
Backed by a $16M Series A round, led by Celesta Capital, the company aims to expand its innovative solutions to the U.S. while scaling operations in India. With Nobel Laureate James Rothman on its board and partnerships with top hospitals and universities, OneCell is on a mission to make precision oncology accessible to oncologists worldwide.
